Twin Churches & Cemeteries

The original Friend's Cove Church, a log structure, was probably built before 1800 on property that was purchased for that purpose in 1798, by the German Reformed and Lutheran Congregations. In 1833,
this log church was replaced by the brick church that is standing today.

In 1888, the Friends' Cove Reformed Congregation decided to build their own church
It is also a brick structure, and stands beside the older church.

As the result of these two churches being so closely related in proximity, construction, and congressional association, they are referred to as the "Twin" churches or the "Double Brick" churches.
On a bright sunny Spring morning, this combination is striking!
