Monroe Township in Bedford County was formed in 1840 out of Southampton and Providence
townships. By 1877, the township schools were organized into districts. District # 10 in Monroe
township was the Fletcher School.

David Fletcher DayvidA@aol.com sends this snap shot of his grandfather Lester Edwin Fletcher.
Lester was born May 21, 1883 in Bedford County. Lester and Sarah Ethel Snyder
(born October 23, 1885) were married June 25, 1914.
 
Lester is standing by the front door of the Fletcher School at it's original location
in front of the Zion Lutheran Church in Monroe Twp.
