Thank you Linda Garrett for the following photos and information on -

Cliffside Acres Cemetery - Rays Cove

Linda writes: I made a trip to Bedford Co., in May of this year (1999) and was able, with the help of my 4th cousin, to locate the graves of my ggg-grandparents, Ezekiel Cook and his wife Elizabeth Leader Cook. They are buried at Cliffside Cemetery. (Photo above) Cliffside Cemetery is located in Rays Cove on the farm of the original Foor Homestead. I don't know who is living there now, but they are taking very good care of the cemetery which contains 10 to 15 graves.

William Lincoln Cook's gravestone was leaning against Elizabeth's stone when we arrived. We turned it slightly to get a better photo of it. I believe that William Lincoln Cook was a grandson of Ezekiel and Elizabeth Leader Cook (above) and that he was about 5 years old when he died.

Elizabeth Leader's sister, Catherine Leader Foor (1798 - 1872) is buried there also. Catherine married Jacob C. Foor II (1809 - 1884). Elizabeth and Catherine had at least another sister Mary and a brother David.

For additional information on the William Cook Family.

Linda is wondering where Ezekiel Cook's (above) parents may be buried? She knows that their names were William and Anna Cook and they were living in Hopewell, Woodbury Twp., Bedford Co. for the 1800 census. After the 1800 census, Anna was listed as head of household, and the last document that Linda can find was dated 1837. Anna is not found in the 1840 census, which may indicate that she died between 1837 and 1840. Where are William and Anna buried? Can anyone help?
